From the new generation of emerging Puerto Rican Fashion designers, Aileen González Martí, also known as Martí, stands out as a bright and shinning star. This fabulous and talented designer graduated with top honors from “Lisa Thon Center of Fashion” located in the business district of Muñoz Rivera Ave. in San Juan. She started her fashion studies as early as her high school years, artistically creating “one of a kind” garments for family members, co-workers, friends and herself. The year of 2002, gave this bright young creator an opportunity to be part of a distinguished group that would brainstorm designs for the wardrobe pieces of Miss Universe, Puerto Rico 2003. Several of her works were chosen for the actual pageant. Miss Universe, Puerto Rico actually donned Ms Martí's creation called, "Caña de Azucar" or Sugar Cane Outfit, which was selected for the Traditional National Costume in that event. The outfit was a notable "hit" according to the International press coverage that was in Panama for the pageant. Marti, who is a very talented designer in her own right, has worked with top designers and illustrators. Her notable Mentors are Lisa Thon and Reynaldo José. Ms Martí's Original Jewelry collection, is hand crafted with a selection of high quality natural materials such as semi-precious gems, crystals and hand carved rare woods. The one of a kind dazzling creations are more than just stunning, they exemplify the exotic the rich cultural and tropical influences that surround her daily life. Martí also created the sharp but professional attire of the Caribbean Sun Airline Flight Attendants.
